Candycane - Dhilgee Danche #1/ Etiopia (filter) 250g
This organic washed coffee comes from the cherries of approximately 400 small growers near the Danche Washing Station . The taste is classic pure and sweet Ethiopia. Peaches, apricots, lemon and black tea.
Danche is one of three stations owned by SNAP coffee . The station is located near the town of Gedeb in the Chelbesa region, Gedeo. The manager of the station is Girum Assefe, who is responsible for the quality of processing and operation of the entire station. Danche buys cherries from around four hundred farmers in the area who, thanks to fertile soil and good agricultural methods, produce more coffee. Farms with an area of 1 to 2 hectares are located at an altitude of around 2300m, and the journey from the farms to the station often takes up to two hours. Due to the high altitude, harvesting usually takes place later in the season compared to other regions. This extended ripening period of the cherries contributes significantly to the exceptional quality of the production. Cherries are picked by hand and local farmers only start cherry picking when they receive a sign from the Gods. This is the only way to ensure that the cherries are the ripest and full of flavor.
SNAP COFFEE, our export partner, was founded in Addis Ababa in 2008 by Negusse D. Weldyes . The company operates three washing and processing stations in Chelelekt, Kochere and Gedeb. It also cooperates with washing stations in Uraga (Guji) and Nensebo (West Arsi) and has an average of about 550 farmers per station.
