Buku Sayisa is our new naturally processed coffee from Ethiopia. Very light and clean coffee with notes of pineapple, peach and black tea .
Buku Sayisa Station is located in the Hambela Wamena region of Guji . Buku Sayisa, the name of the valley in which the station is located, means "Blessed Valley" in the local language. Hambela Wamena is one of the highest coffee growing areas in Ethiopia at 2,300 meters above sea level. The high altitude plays a significant role in shaping the flavor profiles of the coffees produced at this washing station. Also, harvest is usually later in the season compared to other regions. The result is a slower ripening of the cherries for better sugar development, resulting in a distinct, sweeter coffee taste. Over 430 local farmers, whose farms are scattered over the surrounding hills, supply their cherries to the station. Due to the rugged terrain and poor infrastructure, he has to carry his harvest to the station on horseback or on foot. The operation of the station is led by Esayase Beriso , who takes care of quality and careful processing and at the same time educates the farmers. Thanks to his great work and the work of the farmers, progress in the processing and quality of the resulting raw material can be seen at this station year after year. The station is constantly investing in ensuring better drying and they have recently built a new dry mill in Hambele.
