Displaay Offline Fenul MUG
Designed in close collaboration with us, this high-fired ceramic mug celebrates the typeface Fenul and was meticulously handcrafted by In August Company.
Inspired by an anatomy book—especially the chapter on bones—the Fenul typeface features thinner centers and heavier ends. Following this unique morphology, each mug subtly narrows in the middle and concludes with a final touch: delicate black hand-painting.
Fenul Mugs were hand-thrown using stoneware clay with a distinctively rough texture in small editions of 50 pieces and may never be made again. After high firing in an electric kiln, the color and structure of the clay transform. This process might result in tiny iron speckles or other elements surfacing on the ceramic. Rather than flaws, these subtle variations serve as beautiful imperfections that celebrate our craft’s hand-made and distinctive nature.
Crafted in a small Prague workshop, every mug is hand-thrown, hand-painted, bisque-fired, and finally glazed. As a result, each piece offers slight differences in shape and decoration, adding to its unique charm.
